Fast Company has released lists of the "world's most innovative companies" in various categories, and guess who we found on the "Internet of Things" list? None other than Georgetown-based SmartThings, which makes sensors that you can control with an app. It's one of the few D.C. based companies to make the list.

Late last year SmartThings raised over $12 million in venture capital funding.
