Inside D.C.'s tiny house showcase, a tiny spa pop-up

Wonder Woman Wellness, a D.C.-based massage therapy practice, is launching a pop-up spa in D.C.’s first tiny house community. Wellness will offer services September 19th as well as October 17th and November 21st on the Micro Showcase property in Stronghold.

Wellness operates as a mobile business, so founder Beandrea July typically meets clients in their homes. However, some clients prefer being treated in an office space so the 288-square-foot Studio Shed is perfect, says July, who has been practicing massage therapy for ten years.  “I’m excited about the opportunity to offer massages in a different kind of space--one that still provides that atmosphere of a spa, but allows you to see one of D.C.'s interesting places.”

July will offer table massage treatments for individuals and couples. “Most people in D.C. are really intense so they want deep-tissue work,” she says. “I also have a speciality in hot stones so I sometimes integrate that with a regular session because it really helps for chronic tension in areas that have been tight for a long time.”

She will also offer her prenatal and reiki massages. Clients must make appointments. Hours are from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

After her opening on September 19th, the public is invited to attend an afternoon garden party from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m to celebrate her first full year in business under Wonder Woman Wellness.
