D.C. may be a popular tourist destination (it just takes one look at the metro on a summer weekend to see that), but it's also one of the hardest on the wallet, according to a new TripAdvisor ranking.
The travel site says that Washington D.C. is the nation's seventh most expensive city, beat out by Honolulu, New York City, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago and L.A.
In contrast, places like Vegas and Portland are cheaper, TripAdvisor said.
