Greetings and welcome to the first issue of Elevation DC, a new weekly magazine dedicated to the innovators, job creators, and disruptors who've chosen D.C. on which to make their mark. We're delighted you're here reading and learning about what's next for the nation's capital. 

In the weeks to come, we'll bring you news and features about growth, investment, and innovators. We'll show you buildings going up and businesses moving in.

Yes, D.C. is on the rise. We're building and growing at a crazy pace. Recent figures show that more than 1,000 people have moved to the District every month since the 2010 census -- almost three times the national average. To house all those people we'll need new homes, condos, and apartments. And with all that growth comes tension--traffic, pollution, overcrowding, not to mention the tension that comes when new residents move into old neighborhoods. We'll cover the people and organizations doing their best to solve those problems.

Every week we'll have original features on these topics, plus news about companies hiring or expanding, and the latest on where developers are investing their dollars.
