Mess Hall, a new culinary incubator in Brookland, opened Saturday night by hosting the final round of Launch Pad, a pitch competition for food entrepreneurs with a $500K investment purse. Mason Dixie Biscuit Company rose to the top and won first prize.
Two McLean High School science teachers were fed up with not having a raise in five years. So they started a doughnut business on the side. Now, they're toying with the idea of going all-in.
