Train-station-themed restaurant, Union Social, coming to Elevation apartments in NoMa

MRP Realty announced today that Union Social, a new restaurant from Mighty Pint owner Reese Gardner, will locate in the Elevation development in NoMa.

The complex, Elevation at Washington Gateway, has no relation to Elevation DC.

Gardner's new venture was first reported by InTheCapital last month; at the time not much was known about the place except that it would be train-station-themed, with subway tile and other touches that will make the restaurant feel like "a smaller Union Station," Gardner told InTheCapital.

"I think their muse might have been, they're right over there near the metro stop, and even Union Station," says Julie Chase, PR rep for MRP Residential, the development company putting the finishing touches on the 14-story, 400-unit luxury Elevation apartments (pictured above), which will open in summer. The restaurant could open shortly after--its website says "late summer 2014."

Gardner also operates Copperwood Tavern, Irish Whiskey Public House, The Mighty Pint and Wilson Tavern. The farm-to-table menu at Union Social will be similar to that at Copperwood Tavern.

According to MRP's press release, NoMa has added four sit-down restaurants in the past year.
