Bozzuto to begin work on 15th & V condos this month

Bozzuto Homes begins work on the site of a nine-story condo building at 15th and V NW this month. Construction is expected to start in late summer.

The 96 condominiums at 2011 15th Street NW will be combination of studios, one- and two-bedroom units. The building is expected to be finished in late 2015. The project cost is $42 million, according to Lauren Neuvel, spokesperson for Bozzuto Homes.

The building will have a community lounge, meeting room, ground-floor patio, rooftop deck, bicycle storage and parking garage with 37 spots.

The project team is a joint venture of Bozzuto Homes and NV Commercial Real Estate Fund I. The general contractor is Bozzuto Construction Company; WDG Architecture is the architectural firm.

Neuvel says the site was a parking lot for the Paul Lawrence Dunbar Apartments and, before that, the Dunbar Hotel, D.C.'s leading elite black hotel. It's also adjacent to the planned mixed-income redevelopment of Portner Place.

The project is the second D.C. condo project Bozzuto Homes has begun in 2014. The company, a division of The Bozzuto Group, also recently broke ground on an 11-story, 63-unit condo at 460 New York Avenue NW, in Mount Vernon Triangle.
