Construction at 610 Newton Place NW in the Park View neighborhood is transforming a vacant, two-story building and an empty lot into an up-to-date 12-unit apartment building, which will be completed in November.  

Owners Melissa Esposito and Lisa Rowan have announced the grand opening of their handmade and vintage shop, Analog, at 716 Monroe Street NE in the Monroe Street Market. 

Construction is underway at 762 Park Road in the Park View neighborhood, where S2 Development LLC and FEN Enterprises are creating the North Star Condominiums, a seven-unit housing development.

Construction is underway on the new Rhode Island Avenue Pedestrian Bridge, which will provide safe passage over the CSX railroad tracks to the Rhode Island Ave. Metro Station and the Metropolitan Branch Trail.

Carolina Kitchen and a new sister-restaurant, CK Burger, will open on Rhode Island Row in November.

The Mediterranean Way, a gourmet market offering Mediterranean foods and beverages, will open in Dupont Circle in late September.

The Historic Preservation Review Board recently designated the Park View Playground and Field House a historic site. The property played an important role in integrating D.C. playgrounds.

PULP, the greeting card and gift shop on 14th St NW, is raising money through crowdsourcing to renovate its shop.

Construction could start as soon as August 22, 2013, the date that the Godfather of Go-go would have turned 77.
