Douglas Development is building 99 apartments in Takoma.

Busboys and Poets will offer coworking facilities at its new Takoma Park restaurant. The Busboys in Takoma Park and Brookland will both open by the end of the year. 

Busboys and Poets owner Andy Shallal is cooking up plans to develop a culinary training center at the newest store in the works, a standalone building in Anacostia.

About half of the apartments at residential and retail project Takoma Central will be move-in ready in April, with the remainder available in May, according to the project’s developer. 

The proposed 210-unit building has received support from smart-growth and environmental advocates, and now waits for a WMATA board vote.

The Historic Preservation Review Board approved the overall concept of converting the historic Takoma Theatre's vacant building into 20 residential apartments.

The owners of the forthcoming coffee shop raised over $15,000 from fans and neighbors to help upgrade their electrical system.

The newest location of Busboys and Poets will also have a farmer's market. The store, near the Takoma metro station, is slated to open next spring.
