New Mount Vernon Triangle townhomes break ground

939-941 M St NW

A new luxury townhome project has just broken ground in Mount Vernon Triangle, developer Duane Young of Redwood Ventures confirms.

The four units at 939-941 M St NW should be ready for delivery in about six months, Young says.

The units will be built as two four-story rowhouses with two 2,300-square foot, four-bedroom townhomes in each building. Each unit will include a parking space.

The space was, until mid-January, a vacant lot used as a parking lot, "right in the middle of a block filled with large, historic, Victorian rowhomes," Young says. "It's perfect for development. We were just fortunate enough to be able to acquire the lot."

Further, the space is adjacent to Blagden Alley, home to a design firm, pricey houses and Rogue 24.

"It's a very cool space, a hidden gem," Young says.

The new units will also be built with energy-efficient amenities like solar panels, tankless water heaters, and energy-wise windows. The large units are "very consistent with the high-end clientele that would be down in the Mount Vernon area."

As with many of Redwood Ventures' other projects, the architect for the project is Workshop T10.
