Peregrine Espresso has been named best coffeehouse on the East Coast by DaVinci Gourmet, sponsors of the
America's Best Coffeehouse competition.
The joe-slingers had to submit a video highlighting the coffeehouse and the team, then be visited by secret shoppers. The seven top contenders then traveled to New York for three days of brewing coffee for customers and secret shoppers at a pop-up cafe.
Peregrine has three locations in D.C.: one at 660 Pennsylvania Ave SE near Eastern Market, another at 1718 14th St. NW south of U Street, and a third in Union Market in Northeast.
