AshleyMadison.com, the dating website for people already in a relationship, has announced that Washington, D.C., had the highest number of sign-ups to its site per capita for the second year running. (The site's tagline: "Life is short. Have an affair.")
That makes D.C. the most unfaithful city.
AshleyMadison founder and CEO Noel Biderman says in a release that this is not surprising:
"With enormous public attention paid to political cheating scandals this year, including the Gen. Petraeus affair, there was no doubt that Washington residents would be influenced," he said in a press release. "Living in D.C., it's crucial to keep up appearances and therefore adultery has become a way of life for many of the city's most powerful residents."
Just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, don't it?
