Salt & Sundry's Logan Circle location progressing

Salt & Sundry, an upscale home goods store, is opening a store at 1401 S Street NW in Logan Circle this fall, after some minimal renovation is completed in the space.

This is the second location fof Salt & Sundry. Founder and owner Amanda McClements opened a store in 2012 at 1309 5th Street NW in Union Market.

"I lived in Logan Circle for 12 years. I thought the store would be a great complement to the stores that are there," said McClements. She added that "the response to the Union Market store was so successful" an expansion seemed the next step.

McClements said the renovations to the new store are minor, like installing fixtures and shelves. The new store is located in the former Knot Standard Custom Clothes for men.

The new store at 850 square feet is smaller than the 1,100 square foot Union Market store. McClements said the core inventory of home goods, linens, housewares, artisan foods and hand-made furniture will be the same for both stores, although she will look for unique products that fit each location.

Thanks to the expansion, McClements said she expects to double her staff, from 10 to 20.
