Penthouse Pool plans to open second location in Capitol Riverfront on July 3

Penthouse Pool and Lounge is slated to open its second pool in DC in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood.

The forthcoming pool and lounge will feature a 60-foot pool flanked by rentable cabanas and daybeds, chaise lounges, fire pits and tables and chairs for members ordering food and beverages.

Its first location at 1612 U Street NW, atop Vida Fitness, opened in the spring of 2012. The Yards pool will be part of a facility that, like the U Street site, includes a Vida gym, Bang salon, and Aura spa.

The Yards Vida gym is set for an August 2014 opening.  Information about its pre-opening pricing options is here.

Olivier le Ru-Riboulot, brand marketing manager for Urban Adventure Companies, Penthouse Pool and Lounge’s parent, says that the kitchen at the Yards location “will allow us to develop a more sophisticated menu than the one we offer at U Street.” He declined to provide further details, but the U Street facility’s menu includes salads, appetizers and sandwiches, as well as a full range of beer, wine and spirits.

The membership-only facility at the Yards will offer its cabanas and daybeds on a first-come, first-served basis each day Monday through Thursday. They can be reserved on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Pool and gym members will get 10 percent off other Yards hotspots such as the new Takorean as well as more than a dozen eateries, bars, and retailers in and around Washington.
