Solar panels have been installed on the roof of the Cesar Chavez Public Charter School’s Parkside campus, at 3701 Haynes Street NE,
East of the River News reports.
Standard Solar, of Rockville, Md., and Nextility, of the District, partnered with the school. Nextility paid for the $550,000 project in return for energy credits and a purchase agreement; Standard Solar designed and installed it. The panels generate 12 percent of the campus’ electricity needs.
