Nonprofit to turn Georgetown school into an arts incubator

The Fillmore School, most recently owned by George Washington University, which took it over from the Corcoran, has been purchased by the S&R Foundation. The nonprofit, which also runs Halcyon House, an incubator for startups, will turn the Georgetown building into an incubator for the arts.

According to a press release, the building will "serve as a platform to grow talented artists in the fields of fine, visual and performing arts, maintaining the educational use of the building and its place as part of the vibrant arts landscape in the nation’s capital."
